Hi Prvina,Thanks for the query. This is a confusion shared by several parents. To answer it better, I need to understand a few things. - which class is your son in - which state are you currently in- is there a reasonable chance of you moving cities / states / countries? Without knowing the above, I can say that I have a slight inclination towards CBSE and ICSE board. There are 3 reasons for this.1. Easy movement: Both the boards are very popular and hence more schools across the country have subscribed to CBSE and ICSE board. So if you change locations, then it is easier to find good schools of that board2. Reliability: State boards are improving but CBSE and ICSE are improving faster in terms of new syllabus, conducting exams on time, declaring results on time etc. Future careers of students are put at stake when schools / boards mess up in declaring results on time. But CBSE has a huge advantage here because of its size. It can practically dictate college admission calendar. 3. Good schools and good teachers: Because these boards are so prevalent, so its easier to find good schools and good teachers in these boards. You might it useful to review the following articles. www.schoolcountry.com/.../...-boards-in-India.aspxwww.schoolcountry.com/.../...ong-6-dimensions.aspxwww.schoolcountry.com/.../Why-parents-are-running-away-from-State-boards-And-you-should-too!.aspxA lot of depends on the age of the student and the state too. Hope this was of some use.Regards,Sunandan
