It appears that the move to take examination online is gaining momentum. Earlier it was CAT and now, very recently we had Rajasthan state education board deciding to go online. Now it seems to be the turn of AIEEE 2012. AIEEE or All India Entrance Examination for Engineering used to be a paper pencil test. Not any more. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to conduct the AIEEE 2012 exam online. The online test will be conducted from May 7 to 25 while the pen and paper test will be conducted on April 29, 2012.
As a start, CBSE will conduct the online test in only 22 centres while the paper pencil test will be conducted in 65 centres. Further, to promote the online test, examinees will be given a concession between 150 to 300 Rs. To help the students, CBSE will also uploaded a mock test software on its website. To give online movement a further push, CBSE has decided to accept the forms online only. There will be on paper based forms this time. They will open facilitation centres to help students fill the form too.
